Description

Making kitchen starter kits is a great way for anyone - especially kids! - to contribute to Household Goods. Items can be purchased at your local dollar store, or you may be able to see what gently used items you already have in your kitchen drawer. We furnish approximately 200 homes a month, so these kits are always in need.  If you are part of a Girl Scout troop, school organization, or just want to experience the joy of giving, please consider the Kitchen Starter Kit project.

Can opener 2 pot holders Dishcloth or sponge 2 dishtowels Set of measuring cups Measuring spoons Slotted cooking spoon Wooden spoon Spatula/lifter Tongs Paring knife Vegetable peeler Cooking fork Carving knife Note: Please use caution when handling sharp objects like knifes or peelers

Whose Help Is Required

Both individuals and groups can complete this activity; an adult (or teen) is needed to help purchase/obtain the supplies, and a driver who can bring the items to Household Goods.

People who come to Household Goods for kitchen furnishings enjoy selecting pots, pans and other kitchen equipment. Kitchen Starter Kits help them jump start the process and make sure they have all the necessities for preparing meals in their new homes! Clients come from all over the Greater Boston region, including Lowell, Worcester, Framingham, Boston, and more. By providing these everyday items, you can help victims of disasters, people moving into permanent housing, war veterans, refugees and others rebuild their lives.

1. Collect each of the items on the ""Needed Items"" list. (Please note the quantity listed for each.) Items should be new or very gently used. 2. Place all items in a Jumbo Ziploc Storage Bag and label the bag: -KITCHEN STARTER KIT. 3.
