The mission of School on Wheels of MA is to support the academic, social and emotional growth of students impacted by homelessness and poverty.

We provide new and customized backpacks and school supplies, tutoring, high school and college mentoring and vocational assistance to students throughout the Commonwealth facing homelessness and poverty. Our aim is to keep them focused on school during times of disruption and uncertainty.

Service Opportunities

We include bookmarks with each backpack we send. Fold your own origami bookmark and send it to us to include in our backpacks for students in need.Â

Create the Change® partners with nonprofit organizations that we believe offer age-appropriate service opportunities for youth and families. All of our partners sign a collaboration agreement promising to provide age-appropriate activities in a safe environment.
